My One-Thousandth Friend!

STREAMERS! BALLOONS! CONFETTI!

Number 1000 has been friended on Facebook! This honor goes to Oregon Weddings Cathy John Biggerstaff . Cathy, (great name btw!) you are the winner of my newest book, Oregon Weddings, and a Starbucks $5 gift card. Message or email me privately with your preference and be sure to give me a snail mail address (US only) to send your prize. CONGRATS! Please be sure to contact me before June 29, 2011, or the prize may be forfeited.

In compliance with Facebook’s regulations, I can’t do a “Comment here and receive a prize” contest on my page. So I would like to invite you all to comment here on my blog. Then, either stay tuned to the blog or watch for a Facebook announcement. (I think I can at least do that.) The winner will be asked to email or message me with their address so I may send them said prize. And what is “Said Prize”?

Rules

  1. Win EITHER my book, Oregon Weddings, OR a $5 Starbucks gift card by commenting here on blogger.
  2. Comments on Facebook will not be considered.
  3. If for some reason you aren’t able to comment, please email me. The link for that is at the top of this page.
  4. Contest will end on Wed, June 29, 2011. (Yes, that’s this week! Yikes!)
  5. The winner will be required to give their physical mailing address (US only, please) to be able to receive their prize.

If you’d like a topic on which to comment, (not necessary, but could be fun,) how about this:

If you could have one thousand of anything, what would you like it to be?

Best of luck to all of you! I invite you to share this giveaway with your friends.

Congratulations on your 1000th friend. But I bet you actually have more in real life.

So . . . what about a Daz Bog gift card if I win. I tend to be there a lot. lol

Oh wait. I forgot to answer the question--which is why I didn't do this a long time ago. I couldn't think of a good answer.

Hmmmm . . . . one thousand book contracts would be too many, as would 1000 children. 1000 dollars or readers too little. One thousand dark chocolate raspberry candy bars might actually get old, though it is hard to believe. How about 1000 certificates to redeem any time I don't feel like cooking. Each certificate would promise a home cooked meal, the kinds my family likes, and include clean-up!

I like Paula's 1000 request, but mine would be 1000 days of vacation that included unlimited vacation calories.

Kathy, 1000 of something? Hmmm...I could say 1000 people come to the Lord because of me and sound real holy. Or I could say 1000 Special Dark bars and get fat.

Hmmm...how about that 1000 of my closest friends and family members all live an extra 1,000 days than they would normally receive? That'd be cool...spread the wealth!

If I could have 1,000 of something, I'd like it to be 1,000 wishes to grant to those I love.

I would like 1000 paid for houses to give to struggling single moms and their families.

I haven't answered because I can think of a thousand answers to your question. Everything from totally selfish (a thousand days on a tropical island) to completely random (a thousand pieces of Bazooka Joe bubble gum) to absolutely sentimental (a thousand more days with my mom). But wait, there's more! A thousand gallons of gasoline, a thousand children attending my Christian school, a thousand dollars to give to my church, a thousand books... Oh, I know, I know! ONE THOUSAND FRIENDS!!! ....So you see, Kathy, how can I answer your question when there are at least a thousand answers!?! :D

From Kl Rose: If I had one thousand paid for houses, I would give them to struggling single moms and their children.

Wow! I love all of your answers! (Even the chocolate ones!) I think I would love 1000 giggles a day for 1000 years from all of my kids and gkids. Although, Evangeline's answer would probably come in a close second. :)

1000 - hmmmm....
I love the free meals Idea, but I'd go through that in 500 days.
Still... not bad.
1000 completely carefree days. That sounds good.

ohh or what about 1000 calories per day that don't stick ?!

Hmm, 1000 bonus hours where I don't have to chase a toddler around the house or down the street or keep said toddler from dumping her infant brother on the floor! But going off Paula's idea, I think 1000 coupons to trade in for housework/household tasks would be perfect. Would include picking up toys, vacuuming, emptying the sink, putting away dishes, cooking, cleaning, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, and even giving the kids a bath. :)

On days like today, I'd take 1000 extra lbs. of freon in my house to cool things off. :)

Hmmm . . . 1000?
I have seen a lot of great answers and want to ditto a lot of them. I could really use a thousand dollars but that wouldn't cover near enough bills. A thousand meals would be helpful. Also a thousand gallons of gas. But none of those last. I like Kathy's thousand friends.
